Inspire an Active Lifestyle in Your Family & Children

Inspire an Active Lifestyle in Your Family & ChildrenYou know that you and your family are not as active as you could be, and you know why it’s important, but making that step from a life of inactivity to active can be very difficult. Here's our help for family and children on raising the whole family's fitness level.

Inspire your family to be active

It is always good to know that you are doing the best that you can for your family’s health and well-being, both in the short and long-term. But long-term changes begin with small steps, and small steps start with inspiration.

The following factual reasons could be the spark that you need to inpsire your whole family. Exercise can often peter out if one's heart is not in it, so if you truly believe in your cause, you will be fine. Print them out and stick them on the wall, to give all the family an extra nudge.

1) The Government says kids should exercise/be active for at least 60mins/day (90mins if possible).

2) Being active is good for mind and soul, well-being and body image.

3) Getting outdoors provides a sense of adventure.

4) Joining clubs and doing activities is a great way to be sociable and make new friends.

5) An increase in confidence comes with a sense of achievement – so try something new today!

6) Being outdoors is great for bonding and spending more quality time together.

7) Being active outdoors, together, means parents can feel confident their kids are safe.

8) Keeping them indoors for fear of security or bullying (though important concerns) can be obstacles to leading a healthy life outdoors.

9) Just being outside with the family is a competition-free way (sometimes!) to enjoy being active. High levels of competition can put children off doing something they may otherwise enjoy. Keep things fun!

10) Kids can’t always get outdoors easily by themselves so, parents, be supportive and, more importantly, be prepared to join in. Make time for doing stuff together.
