Healthy and good for the bones, this soup is a true English classic with plenty of body. Season with salt, pepper and a little vinegar if you're feeling daring. Goes fantastically well with sweet fruit, like grapes, and with soft French bread. Our healthy meals will get your child eating well in no time.
Preparation Time: 5 mins
Cooking time: 30 mins
Heat the butter, margarine or vegetable oil in a large pan and add the onion and potato, and lightly fry until the onion is soft.
Add the tomatoes to the potato and onion and fry for 5 minutes.
Add all other ingredients apart from the cream. Allow to simmer for 15 minutes. If the mixture is looking too thick add a little water.
Allow to cool slightly before whizzing in the blender.
Stir in the cream.
Reheat and season with salt and pepper to taste.
